In a past life I ran overland outings through Africa, Asia, and South America, where street conditions differed significantly. This photograph was taken in what was then Zaire, yet is presently the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and it features what occurs if a little pothole isn’t fixed . . . it simply continues to get bigger and bigger until it can in a real sense swallow trucks whole.
